Thank you, these are all good ideas. I really like the fact of having the center pieces made and out the way ahead of time.

    Fake flowers.

There were a few reasons. FH has pollen allergies but we are not sure of the exact plant, so didn't want him with scratchy eyes and a runny nose all day.

Another was being able to square away the flowers and make sure everything is as ordered before the day of (we are only doing bouquets).

Pricing too. A lot of the expensive flowers or out of season ones can get pricey. The fake ones aren't effected by time-sensitivity or season, so the fake bouquets I am looking at are roughly half the price of its real counterpart.

Easier to get any colour you want without a lot of fuss. Lesser reason, but true! Smiley xd

Thanks Ashley, I love the idea of hanging on to it. Throwing it away seems like a waste of money to me.

I have some time yet to find ideas, my wedding is next September. But I am torn still......moneywise fake is the way to go. But, the real ones are available by wholesalers like Costco. Purchasing flowers in bulk and making centerpieces at home, could be a cheaper way.

What I'm doing is real flowers for any where someone can easily reach out and touch and fake for anything they can't reach. It stems back to my childhood, anytime my mom sees flowers, the first thing she does is touch them to check if they're real or not. She has it in my head "if you can't afford real flowers, then choose something else".

    Hello Whovia
So I'm confused, you had real flowers that caught on fire. So you recommend fake flowers?
And I agree, the prices are too much.

    Fake flowers!
For my first wedding I had real but a lot of people were trashing the centrepieces or the candles we had in with the flowers they caught on fire. I can’t justify the price of real flowers either.

I purchased silk flowers in bulk through alibaba.com and am putting the bouquets together myself. Depends on how complicated you want the bouquets to be. There are only three types of flowers in mine, which made it pretty easy. The cost was much less for the silk flowers and they will become a keepsake for myself and my girls after the wedding.

Fake flowers due to lower costs on rental basis for one day to use. Purchasing real flowers being out of season varies to higher costs and amount needed than the season at present.

Real flowers for our bouquets. I got a wicked deal on our floral arrangements and love the look and smell of fresh flowers. For our reception decor, all the greenery or floral will be fake

Fake flowers. 1. Hay fever I don't have to worry about sniffling and sneezing all night 2. Cost can't see myself spending that much on flowers just to die plus i can buy them on sale 3. I'll have time to arrange them myself without stressing the day before 4. I can keep a bouquet forever or resell them

Fake/Artificial - because I don't like that real flowers go to waste (even if guests take them home). You end up paying an arm and a leg and it just DIES. At least with fake flowers you can possibly get some money back by selling them after the wedding or keeping your bouquet as a centrepiece in your house - just have to clean it and take care of them.
