What does your wedding Playlists look like?

Laura, on August 6, 2019 at 15:48 Posted in Wedding reception 0 21
I want great songs that people can dance too, and songs that most people know.

We have the same do not play list. Lol, I can not stand all those stupid songs, I even included the new ones like the gitty up that is out now. But sadly as per my kids request we are playing sweet caroline as they have been working hard to learn the words.

Not sure if the link will work - I've never shared one before... but here's my Wedding/Social Playlist! (88 songs)

Definitely a mixture of everything! Play some throwbacks, some classic dance song like the cha cha slide or mamba #5.. then some current music! Think about what your guests enjoy also

    So. Much. 80s. Music.

I've been listening to other people's wedding playlists on spotify and creating one from there, and we're also putting a song request line on the rsvp cards

You're welcome! Honestly, I try to think of the older aunts and uncles that I have and what they used to like/ dance to Smiley smile

Here is my playlist. Its ALOT. But I have a weird taste in music. I also put a song request on our rsvp cards. And very important to me I gave the dj a do not play list. Things like the macarena, chicken dance, thong song, cotton eyed Joe, ect.

Thank you, I never thought to go back to the 50s and 60s but people will definitely like the music time line variety!

I have started thinking about this, so far I have a lists of artists that I/we like and then from there I am going to think of the songs that we want to hear from said artists. I think you could also Google like top 10 songs from each year starting from whatever year you want and then see if you like any of those. Also try to pick from genres that you don't listen too because everyone likes different styles of music.

YouTube has some really good playlists. And if you look up popular songs on Pinterest there are some really good ones!
Any popular music from the early 2000s back to maybe 1950/1960 people are going to know.
Twist and Shout is literally on at every wedding I have been to in the last year and it gets everyone moving!

We did a bit of everything. we included a song request line on the RSVP cards so everyone got to pick a song they wanted to dance to and I sent the list to our DJ..
Then I sent some of our favorites, old and new and asked her to play whatever else she wanted as long as it was fun.
