Our perfect day!
We hosted our wedding here in June 2019 and could not have asked for a better venue. Not only is it an absolutely beautiful location, the Mansion is so unique and the layout - with the dining room ... Read more upstairs, and the cocktail space and dance floor downstairs - really encourages guests to mingle. The food was excellent, the drinks were plentiful and they were quite flexible with letting us come in a bit earlier and decorate. Everything was handled by the staff absolutely perfectly on the day of. Not only were they all lovely and accommodating, they went out of their way to make sure things went as smoothly as possible. Leading up to the event, we had been dealing with Arlene who was also a pleasure to work with - answering our every question promptly and addressing all our concerns. She went on maternity leave just before our wedding and we were handed off to another staff member, who was also fine but not as engaged or helpful as Arlene had been. Overall though, we could not have asked for a better event . Thanks to Arlene, Edge Hospitality and the Paletta Mansion for making our wedding day so special!

Could not asked for a more special location
We were married (service and reception) at Paletta this August (had the site at full capacity) and were blown away by how great the event was. We loved the convenience of having the ceremony, photos, ... Read more reception all in one beautiful location—and that view (the photos look spectacular)!!!! The staff was amazingly helpful prior to the date and during planning stages, but it was the service the day of that made it a great experience (led by site manager that day Mahmud…hope I spelled that right…he was phenomenally helpful, flexible, and upbeat—in general we could not have asked for better staff but he was head and shoulders above anything we could have asked for). The site/tables/rooms were all as planned and looked great, our guests all commented how pretty everything was and how much they enjoyed the grounds. But it was once we went upstairs for dinner that we were really impressed. We had tasted the food previously but had made several changes to the standard menu due to dietary restrictions of many of our guests (i.e. all meats were to be halal and no alcohol in any of the dishes—which since many of the sauces include it was a question on how it would taste once removed). But to our delight the meals were amazing—the beef was quite possibly the best we have ever had (and we think tasted even better without the alcohol in the sauce). It has been two months since the wedding and people are still talking about how much they enjoyed the meals (taste, portions, presentation etc.). We cannot thank the team at Paletta enough for making sure our big day went off without a hitch (we were so impressed that we will seriously consider booking it again for any other big events in the future).

Wedding Reception @ Paletta Mansion
We booked our wedding party at Paletta Mansion about 5 months before the party date. We booked purely on location and were happy to pay a bit more than the other venues in the area to get a cool ... Read more historic mansion and beautiful lake view. At the beginning the service was average, we were quoted pretty quickly and given a discount on the venue rental price because it was still the off season. We were really worried about booking the venue because we live overseas and wouldn't be around until the week before to see everything, and we stressed this to the sales person and said we could only talk via email, and he accepted this. We send 2 emails that were not responsed to, one was 3 weeks before we followed up, and one was about a week - we had to contact again and were not given apology, they merely said "That was my day off and a colleague must have opened it and not told me, sorry." This would have been totally fine if it was just one incident. Taking days to answer an email, with us being on a time change was not the best experience. It may have been our fault because we were going to be travelling for 6 weeks before the party, but we specified this before we booked and were told that would be totally fine we would have everything ready in time. Working with Daniel was okay, he was really friendly on the phone and his email communication, but I didn't find him organised enough for the job and my standards. The week prior I panicked about a few things, and Daniel answered really quickly, such as final payment and meal choices and numbers being finalised, he managed to make me feel at ease and told me to contact him if I needed anything else. I had assumed Daniel would be at the venue on the day of, and this was silly of me to assume, but I think it could have been mentioned in our last communication before the day. I called the Friday before to ask a question and was told another lady named Brittany would be in the office on the day. My friend and I arrived to use the Bridal Suite at 11am, and were very excited. After realising that Brittany was giving a tour to potential clients we went upstairs and waited, 45 minutes later I decided to interrupt because we had been told their was a fridge we could use and wifi. It was super uncomfortable interrupting, but I figured Brittany knew I had never seen the venue and would give me a tour. When she was done I went and asked and was told at 3pm there would be a supervisor arriving that would show me...this upset me quite a bit because the cake and flowers and chocolates were delivered and I was given no direction about where anything should go. I asked a few more questions and was greeted by a cold glare and told to wait until 3pm. At 3pm our supervisor arrived and was very friendly, and experienced, and started getting everything ready and made it clear that she was there to help me with anything I needed which was great after being treated poorly all day. Other than a few minor things such as hanging signs and moving tables that I requested, this supervisor was awesome, she made sure that me and my husband had food and drinks all night, and kept asking if we were happy. Dinner was great and everyone said the food was pretty good, other than a few minor complaints but I understand you always get those. We had one friend tell the waiter right before service that he couldn't have gluten, and his meal made him very sick and had to leave. After dinner we were happy to party, the bartender named Chad was okay - but wouldn't make eye contact or smile and I had a few people come up to me saying he had been rude. By this point people were drunk so I brushed it off because I know how annoying drunk people are to bartenders - but it is your job to smile, and annoying for me getting complaints when I'm trying to celebrate. During the last song of the night my friend fell and hurt his knee really badly (had to have surgery a few days later). One waitress came up to ask if he was okay and then walked away, it is my understanding staff need to be trained on first aid (at least the supervisor?) and an ambulance should have been called right away. The guy who hurt himself was asking for one not to be called and another person took charge, staff should have stepped in because they were sober and in charge of the venue and called an ambulance and not waited 15 minutes. After the party looking at photos I could see glasses everywhere and did realise that there was hardly any clean up until the end of the night - all tables were covered in dirty glasses which is gross. I understand I probably sound like a bridezilla in this review and that's fine, but after all this is the one time that my husband and I knew we could have a blast and be the center of attention - I feel the staff should have made me feel special and taken care of and instead I felt uncomfortable and like I was constantly annoying them. To make matters worse I contacted Daniel a few days after the party with these same complaints and was given no response. I waited one week and emailed again, my father went to the venue (to pick up items left behind) and spoke to another gentleman and asked him to get Daniel to contact us. If you cannot even accept a bad review to learn from, I doubt they ever will. If having a carefree stressful day is part of your plan, I highly recommend choosing another venue, which sucks because it is such a great location and beautiful mansion.
