    They will make your vision come to life!

    I still can't believe how perfect our florals and decor were for our wedding day. Our guests keep telling us how beautiful it was (especially the flowers!). I am so thankful I decided to press my bouquet so I can keep it forever because it was stunning.

    The Fresh Look team is an absolute pleasure to work with. They took my various Pinterest boards and made a look book that really helped solidify the vision for our wedding and then they executed it flawlessly.

    Their team helped ensure I didn't need to worry about a thing with set up and tear down of our decor which let me just sit back and enjoy the day (which is exactly what you want for your wedding!).

    My bouquet was so pretty and smelled great! Loved out bud vases, and they were great with decorating!

    Absolutely Stunning & Wonderful People Too

    We used Fresh Look for our November 5 wedding and wow, wow, wow. Ainsley and the team were so easy to work with, great platform for communication and uploading thoughts and ideas via photos and stunning work. It was a warm, but extremely windy day and yet the flowers did so well and held. The mantle piece was stunning, table setting gorgeous and my bouquet was even better than I imagined. Set-up and take down was all taken care of to give me a stress free day as well.
    I even had a couple minor changes between 3-6 months prior and even though the floral order was in, still was zero issues which I appreciated because I miss counted a couple things!
    Can't say enough about these ladies and I love supporting, not only local, but female owned too!
    Thanks so much Ainsley for everything leading up to and on the day!

    Floral Dream for Intimate Ceremony

    Our experience with Fresh Look Design was amazing, Ainsley & her Team are the best! We booked back in fall of 2019 when we were set to host our wedding at Whistle Bear Golf Club with 135 guests in the Rose Room for June 2020. They were going to supply all of the florals for the ceremony and reception along with a number of rental items (champagne wall, runners, candles, votives, sweet heart table backdrop, all of the bridal party florals, seating chart etc.). I really fell in love with FLD's design style and had the chance to have an in person visit back in 2019 which was lovely.

    Due to the pandemic, we had to pivot many times. Yet through it all Ainsley was extremely supportive and understanding. We always had clear communication with FLD which my husband and I value very much especially during that uncertain time.

    In the end, we thankfully did get married in May this year. It was the shutdown, which was the tightest of restrictions. Yet Ainsley & Nicole really came through for us!! They created a full floral arch, petals down the aisle, arrangements on acrylic pillars, bridal bouquet, bridal party pieces and cake florals. My husband and I had our first look & ceremony in the Gardel Chapel, which we were so thrilled how everything came together WOW! Our family (7) along with our virtual guests were floored by the floral beauty. They are still talking about it! We can't even imagine everything that happened behind the scenes, we are so grateful.

    Ainsley even delivered my gorgeous bridal bouquet & bridal party florals herself the morning of the wedding, which was so sweet of her to come and giver her congratulatory wishes in person pre-ceremony.

    Unprofessional

    Although Fresh Look does decent work the overall experience was a nightmare. I will start this off by saying, I work in the events industry and this is only company that is doing anything like this with people’s money:

    My sister was set to get married at Whistlebear Golf Club on Saturday April 18/2020 with 200 people but due to COVID her and her Fiancé had to postpone just shy of a month out. At the time all vendors had been paid in full and a decision was made quickly to postpone the large wedding to October 25/2020 as, at the time no one really knew how long COVID was going to last or what was going to transpire in the coming months.

    As October 25th was approaching they made the decision about 6 weeks out to move ahead with that date but only with 30 people attending as opposed to the original amount of 200 based on the restrictions and met with Ainsley to let her know their decision and revise the floral/décor order to reflect the new guest count. As per Ainsley and the contract, revisions could be made 30 days out from the event but Ainsley took longer to get back to them than any professional would and then said the changes were within the 30 days. The request made to Ainsley was that the money that was Non - Refundable ($2500.00) be used for the event and the rest of the money be refunded as they no longer required $5500.00 of florals due to the revised guest count they spoke to her about (30 people that actually only ended up being 12 in the end!). This is pretty straight forward and should be easy to understand - the non refundable amount has to be used and anything above that amount can be refunded if the revisions are made 30 days before the event.

    Ainsley continuously said things like "we will try to help out if we can" and "I need to take care of my people" all while opening a brand new floral studio. In the end she went ahead and decided they would only refund a small portion of the money that was not part of the non-refundable deposit. This makes absolutely no sense in my professional event industry opinion as they hadn’t taken any losses from the wedding moving from the original date as that decision was made a month before the date which means they hadn’t purchased anything yet.

    You would think someone would have a little bit of sympathy for a nurse who was working crazy hours for the past 8 months while trying to plan a wedding. The fact that Ainsley is using people’s money to float her business instead of doing the right thing tells you everything you need to know about this operation.

    In closing, if you want to work with genuine people who actually care about your events, there any many other great companies in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge Area to choose from.

    Hi Paul,

    We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy at this time.

    We are saddened to hear that you are disappointed in your experience with us. As a fellow small business owner, we’re sure that you can understand the need to stay firm on contracts.

    We would like to emphasize a key section in the contract that was signed by your sister: “reductions of up to 10% of original quantities ordered can be done without charge by phone, email or in person if made prior to 30 business days of the scheduled delivery date.”

    On September 2nd, Mairead indicated that the guest list would be reduced to 30. This change was honoured as it was more than 30 days out from the wedding date. Ainsley readjusted the design plan, in order to accommodate this switch. This redesign was done at no cost to your sister. However, on October 11th (2 weeks out from the date), Mairead reduced the guest list to 12 people. This was not a government mandated change, it was a personal choice that happened within 30 days before the wedding. Therefore, the conditions of the aforementioned section of the contract do not apply.

    We have tried our best to be compassionate with all of our clients as we understand that the pandemic is at no fault of their own. However, the non-refundable deposit is just that, a deposit. This deposit covers design time, consultation time (phone and in person), labour, as well as secures your wedding date. This $2500 deposit is not equivalent to $2500 in tangible product and therefore could not be used in place of the remaining balance as per Mairead’s request.

    Out of compassion for the situation, Ainsley provided Mairead with a 25% reduction in the total booking cost -- more than double that is stated in the contract. This refund ($1400) was issued in the form of a cheque, and the remaining balance was used towards the final wedding design.

    We are grateful for your sister’s commitment to the health industry, however, personal matters such as occupation hold no weight when it comes to making decisions regarding a legally binding contract that was signed by both parties.

    Your claim of the floral studio being floated using Mairead’s money is simply not true. The floral studio has existed for 2 years, and is not a new thing. Any new expenses related to the “new” studio were paid for personally by Ainsley, and are of no relevance to this situation.

    We enjoyed working with Mairead and Chris and we wish them all the best in their future.

    Negative experience as a supplier

    Fresh Look DOES NOT PAY ITS SUPPLIERS.

    In good faith we supplied and delivered fresh-cut Christmas Trees and stands and for a holiday event FreshLook held in November 2019. At no time did we receive any indication, verbally and/or in writing that there were any deficiencies in the work. Apparently the management does not understand the concept of indebtedness nor is aware how Canadian tort law works.

    Any attempts to obtain payment in winter 2019, spring 2020, then summer, and now fall of 2020 are unsuccessful and are met with stupefying silence.

    Phone calls and email queries are not answered and hard-copy mail reminders are not acknowledged. Fresh Look seems contemptuous of their creditors and do not seem concerned that the matter will be turned over to small claims or 3rd party collection agency. it’s embarrassing that a service company in the higher-end hospitality industry cannot pay a 1-year-old (long before CoViD) discounted bill for a paltry $2500.00.

    Best advice as a burned contractor /supplier - Be wary of who you’re dealing with, get your payment from this company up front and in full, and/or apply your resources instead to clients that respect your hard work.

    We’re sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the experience you had with us as a vendor.
    Nurturing and maintaining relationships with our vendors is something that we value highly at FLD. We apologize for the delay in payment, as well as for making you feel as though our intentions were anything but positive.

    Shortly after the holiday event you are referring to, you were closed for the holidays, and shortly after that we closed for the holidays too. After the end of these holiday closures, we tried touching base with you but weren’t successful; and vice versa. Shortly after this period of back and forth communication; the pandemic began which caused more closures. Since the region has reopened and has reduced its covid closures -- you have been paid.

    As another small business, we are sure that you understand that back and forth communication and other unforeseen circumstances can cause a delay. Again, we truly are sorry for this delay.

    Now that you have been paid, we feel as though this review is not an accurate depiction of the situation and we would appreciate it if you would remove it as it paints an image of us that is untrue. We work very hard to make sure our vendors are taken care of and have nothing but respect and the utmost appreciation for our relationships. We hope you can do the same.

    Bouquet was beautiful but not what I ordered

    My bouquet, boutonnières, corsages and swags were beautiful and well made, however, I ordered Cali Lillie’s and roses and received Cali lilies and carnations. When I came to pick up my order on the morning of my wedding I was not told of the change until I noticed the carnations and asked why I got carnations when I ordered roses. Someone should have reached out to me by phone when they realized that I could not have the roses I paid for. There was also no adjustment in price. I spoke with this vendor after my wedding to provide feedback one week ago and was told they would look into the breakdown in price and get back to me. I haven’t heard from them yet.

    "Hi Crista,
    We appreciate you communicating your concerns to us and giving us feedback about your wedding bouquet. We’re very sorry that we weren’t able to get the purple roses that you had requested.We want you to rest assured that you got more than your money’s worth with the bouquet. In lieu of the purple roses, extra premium white roses were added as well as extra white and purple calla lilies, totaling more than the original price point. The lavender purple statice was added to include the pop of light purple colour from the photo. The carnations were purchased due to the inspiration photos. The closest natural flower that we could get to match the colour and texture of the silk flowers in the photo were purple carnations. Since your e-mail had asked that our creation be unique and original, we hoped that using a flower with the closest look would work.We realize that you had hoped for the light purple spray roses that you had seen in the cooler. Those specific roses were from the previous week and would not have held up well in a bouquet, which is why we did not use them. We had ordered fresher roses in that exact colour for you, but our suppliers sent roses that were significantly pink. This can sometimes be an issue with natural product and a substitution has to be made.We understand that you would like to have been notified of this earlier, and for that we offer our deepest apologies.We hope this clear things up, and please let us know if there is anything else we can do.

    Great Selection | Flawless Execution!

    Highly responsive team, great selection of quality inventory and wonderful to work with! The white harvest tables that we rented for our recent wedding were absolutely gorgeous and a great addition to our decor! Working with a vendor that was on the preferred vendor list at our venue was a huge bonus, as the team at Fresh Look was very familiar with the space which made the coordinating and logistics of the set-up effortless and stress-free! Highly recommend!

    They'll Have What You Need

    Working with Fresh Look Designs was a breeze. They had what we needed and they were very responsive to any questions we had about anything. One thing we really appreciated was their rental pricing. Super reasonable for what you are getting. Overall a great experience!
