We went with Digital Vinyl for our wedding this summer. We had a great experience with our DJ Tyler who did a great job at reading the room and being our MC at no extra charge. You do receive a lot of marketing texts emails on the lead up to your wedding, but also a lot of helpful reminders to update your song selections and fill in the documentation they need before the big day. Most of the details of what you are looking for on the day are confirmed in your meeting with the owner Bill, who offers helpful suggestions on how to organize everything from speeches, first dance, to wedding games based on his experience in the industry. He gave us some great tips and we definitely had a smoother reception experience because of it. If you have any special requests make sure to fill in the forms they provide carefully and speak to Bill to make sure they are confirmed with your Dj they pair you with. Overall great experience and would certainly recommend Digital Vinyl based on our experience.Digital Vinyl's reply:

Digital Vinyl is absolutely amazing! We hired them for our spring wedding at the Ancaster Mill (a venue they know inside and out for the record).
From start to finish, this business has weddings dialed. We worked with Bil to get ready for our event and then we had Dave as our DJ for our wedding, who was awesome!
Besides the great service from the team, the other big plus of working with Digital Vinyl is their planning platform you use to assign music and build your vibe. Their database is huge and you can request anything they don’t currently have which is so convenient. And then you can assign all the specific songs with notes like wedding party entrances and your first dance.
Highly recommend, these guys are the best!!

Preparation:
- Bil was excellent in making us feel comfortable and was able to advise us with his breath of experience in the industry.
- They had a variety of options we could use for our wedding, such as live streaming, lighting, photo-booth.
- As a couple that loves our music and can get very picky at times, they were able to accommodate us. We created a playlist of songs we wanted to hear during cocktails and dinner and they had allowed us to play it. (Please note that couples are not expected to organise playlists
- We had an MC who was a very close friend of ours and they had accommodated him and let him steer the reception day. But they also gave us key points and experience in guiding us through the process.
- I think that was by far the strongest part of their service. They let us have control when we wanted it, but they were able to give excellent advice and guidance at the right time.
- All our songs were uploaded into their innovative cloud service.
The Big day
- We had live streaming service for our ceremony, and DJ, Lighting and photobooth for the reception
- When it came time for dancing, the DJ (Tyler) took care of the dancing and he was great at picking the right songs for the right crowd that was dancing at the time. It was personalised to the crowd that was there, (late 90s early 2000s bangers). He also took requests. We danced till 1am.
Suggestions:
- While we loved the innovative cloud based website that allowed us to plan for the wedding, it may have been too rigid at times. There were only two slots for special performances, when we had a couple more performances to include music for. Ideally, the site should have allowed us to add more performances dynamically.
- It would also be nice if we could upload tracks to the site. We had to send our tracks to Bil via email which at times could be daunting with file size limitations with emails.
- The live streaming for the ceremony was a little too far. We had family from India and the Philippines had noted that they couldn't see us in the streaming.
