Masuda did my hair for my wedding ceremony and I can’t recommend her enough! She was so detailed and executed the look I wanted perfectly. My hair and dupatta stayed in place all day and I couldn’t be happier. She was extremely friendly and patient. She stayed longer to help me and make sure everything was set in place before she left. I cannot recommend Masuda enough! From trial to wedding day, Masuda and her team were so easy to work with and executed each look (makeup and hair) to perfection! All hair and makeup stayed in place all day and night - thank you so much for making the wedding day so special!MasudaFace's reply:

Shankari S. Sent on 26/09/2019Surprising errors: lateness, lipstick and sari draping.
Masuda's makeup and hair were exceptionally well done, so I was surprised that she missed some very key details on our wedding day.
Lateness: she arrived half an hour late, which in turn led to us being half an hour late to our professional photos. I wish more of a time buffer had been in place or she had sped up to get us done on time. As it was, it was a big disappointment to lose 30 minutes of photography time.
Lipstick: I had asked multiple times (during the trial and on the day of the wedding) that she leave me a sample of the lipstick she used so that I could touch up over the course of the day. Masuda assured me that she would, but she forgot. My lips got dry/chapped/flaky, and I did not have a dark colour that came close to the one Masuda had used. It made for an uncomfortable day of trying not to eat/drink and trying to keep it from looking terrible in the photos.
Sari draping: she contracts with someone else to iron and pleat the sari, but she was not good at doing the draping on the day of the wedding. It felt loose and uncomfortable, and the pleats were dragging along the floor in the front and sari was riding up in the back. The lady who did the ironing had done an amazing job with the draping during the trial. Masuda's draping was barely adequate (and quite uncomfortable) in comparison. I'd recommend hiring someone else to drape your sari and letting Masuda just stick to your makeup (which she's excellent at). Make sure you insist on a lipstick sample!MasudaFace's reply:

I agree with you on the saree. I felt really rushed because you were worried about being late for the photos. I noticed you keep checking your watch every couple seconds to indicate to me to speed up. I wanted to speed up for you. It was my fault for rushing and should have just told you to give me more time as this will make the difference in a proper fitting.
I only got there 10 minutes late confirmed by our text messages. I was to arrive for 7:45am and I texted you at 7:55am at the elevators. I’m not sure if we are on the same page about this and what your intentions are with exaggerating the late arrival.
Furthermore, you had 3 lipsticks which were almost identical to the lipstick I used on you at the hotel. This is a shade you said you liked wearing which is why you had many lipsticks close to the same shade. You even had the same lipliner I used on you at the hotel. I even suggested using your lipsticks instead of my lipsticks after we sampled them against the one I used from my kit. I thought it’s better for touch-up later. I don’t recall the several reminders for the touch-up lipstick otherwise we wouldn’t have even discussed using your lipsticks. Having said that, I am not sure why you didn’t think of using 1 of 3 lipsticks with almost the exact same shade rather than to make the choice to uncomfortably eat. The lipstick sample is a complimentary item I mentioned I can give. It’s not part of the contract. I didn’t forget intentionally and can’t take ownership for dry/chap lips. We remind our brides in the contract about how to take care of lips so you don’t have to worry on the day of. Choosing not to eat/drink rather than using your own very similar shades of lipsticks is something I cannot be responsible for.
Your photo looks beautiful of your makeup/hair. I take responsibility for the saree and wish I pushed harder for more time. I wish you the best in the future.
