So Fantastic

We had Kathy and Leon play for our outdoor wedding at St Anne's in Victoria in 2017. It was amazing. Kathy was very helpful in setting up the song list. The quality of musicianship is seriously flawless and they helped make the day more magical than we could have imagined. Seeing my wife come down the aisle to "Thousand Years" on cello... amazing... I'll never forget it. It did take a few days to get responses to emails, but that's what I would expect from this type of business. Don't put stock in any reviews that are not 5-star! Highly recommended!

We planned to hire Ten Strings and Bow to play at our wedding in Victoria, BC in May.

We planned to hire Ten Strings and Bow to play at our wedding in Victoria, BC in May. We exchanged several messages on Facebook messenger and decided we would go ahead and pay the $200 CAD deposit to them. After that happened, their contact person, Kathy did not respond to any e-mails or FB messages for a week. When she finally did, she explained she had been sick with the flu and apologized for the delay. We got a copy of the contract, signed it and sent it back for her to sign in return. Weeks went by--and we got no responses again. Almost 2 months passed by and still nothing. We escalated to our wedding planner who also tried to reach Kathy. Nothing. At this point we felt it necessary to find another group to play at our wedding as we were not getting any response and needed to move on with planning. Then, 2 weeks later Kathy wrote back explaining she had been dealing with a death in the family and was now ready to talk. We wrote back offering our condolences, but that under the circumstances, her not responding had led us to go in a different direction. Additionally--her unsigned contract made us nervous that Ten Strings would even show up at our wedding. Kathy responded that she was disappointed that we were breaking the contract and refused to return our deposit. Despite our countless attempts to resolve this via e-mail and requests to talk it out on the phone, she refused to resolve. I had accidentally sent our deposit via PayPal as a friends and family transaction--so they are unable to help us recoup our deposit. Additionally our bank is not able to help us dispute the transaction. I have escalated to the local Victoria Better Business Bureau. I am very sorry if she was dealing with serious personal matters--but she should have notified us of what was going on, so that we were not left feeling like we had been conned. Had she done so, we would have given her all the time she needed to grieve. This is a warning to other potential clients.

Ten Strings and a bow was an excellent choice for us. They were very open to the 'extra' songs we chose that were outside their usual repertoire. They were professional, showed up on time (rehearsal and actual day) and were very nice people to deal with. We would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Besides an extensive playlist Both Kathy and Troy were open to playing other songs of our choice. They were prompt, pleasant and professional. Several guests commented on their sound and quality of music. Wedding planning is a stressful process and it was a relief not to worry about the music.

Ten Strings and a Bow made our wedding perfect. Kathy's flexibility was outstanding in what was a very last minute decision on our part to secure musicians. They helped us select songs for the ceremony and were very flexible on the music for the party and reception. Incredible versatility in the music, and flexibility to customize a package that worked for us. The music was perfect, and Kathy and Leon's repertoire for our garden party themed wedding could not have been more ideal.
